I was just battling for the hell of it, gaining some BP to get the dolls in the rare item selection when I fought a guy called 'ARGENTO'
He looks a lot like 'SILVERSTAR' in that he's all silverish.
The only thing is that you can only fight him in the special mode 2, and you can't play as him in special mode 1.
Can you unlock him?
Another Q.
Is there a Gear Level- 3?
I doubt it cuz it doesn't mention anything in special mode 1 but it's a possibility.

Heh, believe it or not, there are more than Regrs and Argento to unlock in the arena. I believe there was a code somewhere that said you could unlock the G-Element Gear, but not particularly sharp on that one...

Argento is a secret gear in the battling arena, as is El-Regrs. I don't know how to unlock Regrs. But to unlock Argento you need to use any gear but Xenogears to defeat all of the other gears starting from the one to the right of the gear you choose, and then once you have defeated them all use Xenogears to beat the one you were using. You have to have rounds set to 3 and cannot lose a round or it won't work, I think. Also, it either has to be set to normal or hard, I forget which.

all you have to do to unlock el regrs is enter deus and leave. then go to nortune and the feathery omnigear should be waiting for you.

Whichever battling mode lets you choose your gear and your opponent's gear. I think it's mode 2, but I have not played XG in so long..... :(

Finally got enough patience to go through all that grueling battling and unlocked Argento. It's pretty tight-lookin'.
But why do you have to unlock those two? They aren't THAT much greater than the other gears('cept stuff like backfirer)

Congrats. Argento takes a lot of time. People like variety in the battling arena, I guess. El-Regrs, however, is arguably the best gear the arena.

Everyone has their preferences, but I'm my best when using Xenogears. His long range attacks are much appreciated.

That's why I said that Regrs was arguably the best, not the best. I am best with Andvari, Fenrir, Xenogears, and Regrs. I am also good with Hatamoto and Wyrm. And EG-Gunner, but he's just cheap.
