Why did'nt some people mutate? I know about the destiny thing, but is there a factual reason, like genetics or something?
Did Merkava's cannon or the Seraphs destroy Shevat?
How and when did the split between Solarians occur, was it after the Zeboim era or before? Why did Miang help in the Zeboim age's destruction?
What is the secret movie everyone is talking about that contains a hidden song? Is it Emeralda's growing up?
If Shevat was promised half of the Earth after the Nisan War why don't they have any control of the nations?
Was Ravine a seperate nation to Zeboim or a terroists group?
Sorry for all the questions, but translating bits and pieces of the PW leaves for big empty spots.

all of humanity. The gaetia key effected everyone, including solarians.

In the Bible, Zeboim is mentioned in conjunction with a ravine of some sort. I think it was an area nearby, but what I've read has been sketchy on details. Maybe(in Xenogears) it was a place near the city where a terrorist group was hiding? But considering that it was capitalized, maybe it was meant as a seperate city.

Cain was trying to save the whole of humanity. The Cain that makes the speech in Solaris is merely a puppet and not the real Cain.
The reason so very few people mutated was because they had lived so long on this planet (living through multiple generations) hence the artificial humans evolved away from the destiny of becoming parts for Deus. Deus was originally planned to be resurrected earlier (around Zeboim) but it failed due to genetic damage. The first waves of mutations is caused by the virus that Krelian spread into the atmosphere. Our heroes didn't get mutations since they removed their limiters in Solaris.

Who cares? Personally I believe it was the seraphs.
Solaris didn't exist during the zeboim era. Miang judged that humans were to sick and unworthy of becoming parts for god so she ignited a nuclear war in order to erase defective humans and 90% of all human life was lost during the Zeboim era.
The hidden movie contains clips of the FMVs on disc 2 and the song Stars of Tears.
Ravine sounded like a terrorist group to me.

Ravine sounds more like a city or town to me where some protestors got pretty rowdy and trashed a power generator. Could be a terrorist group or the nation Zeboim's at war with. Who's to say and who cares.
When did they say Miang caused the nuclear war in the Zeboim era? Sure we know she was around back then but didnt see have an invested interest in keeping humanity free of nuclear fallout? She would more likely be trying to stop the war which was causing irreversible damage to the genetic structure in humans leaving people unsuitable for their use in ressurecting Deus. Then again she could have changed her mind when the genetic damage became too high due to pollution or from the use of chemical weapons. In any case we're given too little information from the game to make a 100% accurate judgement.

BTW, how do you access this elusive "Hidden FMV" (supposedly comprised of various other FMV clips jumble together)??

Well, considering when the game was made... it's also possible that Ravine is Xenogears' nod to Final Fantasy 7. Ravine, Avelanche.. hmm.. could be.... To find FF7's nod to Xenogears, talk to Fei while he's catatonic from an extended skindive in the Lifestream.
As to the unaffected being descendants of Gazel.. I think there has to be more to it than that. The Gazel were among the first people on the planet, which means most everyone has to be descended from them to begin with.. It more likely has something to do with the Animus Factor, which seems to be a measured quantity. Some people have a high factor, some have a low factor..
Perhaps those with a virtually nonexistant Animus Factor are those who mutated...

If you have a FMV extractor like PSM Play, just pop in disc 2 and you can watch it. If not, take the making of Lunar disc, put it in teh playstation, then, once the movie starts push the open button and put in the 2nd disc of xenogears. It'll play all the fmvs, mixed up, including the music video.
