Hey, Why does Sophia have an omnigear with the anima relic Dinah if Sophia died before, the Diabolos Period. I think I remember someone say in the game that it faught well in the Diabolos War, but Sophia is dead by then. Think maybe Zephyr piloted it during the Diabolos Period? Maybe not, but I like Zephyr. I don't think that the gear that Krelian had during the "Nisan War" (as I call it) was his omnigear. It looks too much like the typical Nisan gear shown in the PW's.
Hey you know the magazines in Zeboim, I had one of my genius friends dumb it down to a reasonably understanding, so if any of you want, I'll put that on this board, with Myaru's postiton of course. With AC's kicking out, I wanna be very cautious of all I do.
Myaru, what is the Area Terrane that is shown in the PW's, I have not deciphered that part yet, and I really wanna know what it is all about.
Hey if you guys want to quickly translate your PW, I hear that Kincos translates stuff, but it is veryt expensive. And it was just a rumor, so I'm not sure.
Who was Krelian talking about when he said "the only person that could of forgiven me is gone," I remember it was a topic here before, but I cant find it.
I think the people of Shevat are crazy, they wanted to go back down to the Earth. Their city was super cool in the sky. One of the best cities I have ever seen in any RPG. I would love to of lived in Shevat.
Do you think ether disappeared imediately or gradually. I wanna write a fanfic that would be very plausible with events after the game. And I really wanna use ether, but if it gone immediately, then I cant.
Where is Yui in the end? She isn't in crashed Shevat, did she die?
Amphesvena is deffinately Krelian's omnigear.
Why were people that were not destined to be part of god also taken by the seraphs?
Ah, I give up on my Xeno site, plus there are so many that it does not really need to go up. My new idea an FF* story site, I havn't seen any like that, and FF8's story was kinda strange.

Mmm... Well, I'll probably just repeat stuff the other said, but answering these questions help me get my own thoughts in order, so I'll do it anyway. Maybe It'll motivcate me to finish my history renovation. ^_^

Sophia's Omnigear:
I believe the PW says that there were four gears aligned with Anima Relics before Sophia's death: Regulus, OR Weltall, Andvari, and an unnamed gear. (I've speculated that it's Opiomorph, but there's no reason for it... nor do I think that one needs a Relic, for reasons I wont' explain here.) She was able to pilot Regulus, though as the toehrs said, she was injured, and didn't make another appearance in battle until she crashed the Excalibur into Merkava I.

As far as Krel goes... well, I'm sure his gear was a bit more elaborate than the others, considering his position as head of the military, but yeah... It was just a normal gear. Whether he later aligned Judah with that, or with something else, is unknown (and Cain has already gone over the arguments about Amphysvena).

Zeboim magazines:
Go ahead and post it - there's nothing wrong with that. Just heed the example our departed friend has set for us... and don't make the same mistakes. My tolerance level has been lowered significantly.

I don't know if I posted it on GA (it's been awhile since I've updated the Misc. section), but on DeM, Irwin gave us a run-down on the science they present in those letters, and... basically, they're pretty unrealistic. But I'd be interested to see what your friend had to say.

Area Terrane:
Basically, it's an uninhabited area - or at least, extremely sparsely populated. Maria's origin is in this place, and it is also where you find Deus's final form (where Merkava II crashes). It may have had some sort of scientific value, although it's my guess that Nikolai was there for the isolation, kind of like Taura choosing to live in Elru...

Translation:
Didn't someone on the TNS boards get an estimate for a professional translation? I recall seeing a post like that... saying it would cost about $9000. *shrug* It's been awhile.

Krelian:
He could have been referring to any number of people... To me, it seems like he's saying that only God has the capacity to forgive him, although humans might try... Considering the blood on his hands, I can see him refusing to accept forgiveness from anyone other than God as well, because he feels that he has so greatly wronged humanity, and the people he loves most of all. In his position, I doubt I'd believe anyone who told me they could forgive me, after that.

Besides, after being one with the knowledge and essence that is "God", even for such a short time, his perception of the world, himself, and what he did must have changed beyond imagining. With such limitless knowledge... well, I just think he'd have a different perspective on things (I discussed this a lot awhiel ago, with a friend of mine), and that might also make him feel that he can no longer fit in with humanity.

In fact, she said it pretty well - while part of "God", he learned the full enormity of human suffering, and gained the sort of understanding that no one has really had before. *shrug* (Not exactly what she said - sorry about that! I tried. ^.^) His profile in the Perfect Works seems to confirm this theory as well.

Shevat:
The city was either knocked out of the sky by Merkava's cannon, or Seraphs. I think the cannon is more likely, since Krel was trying to raze the surface with it anyway. *shrug* He's got a 500 year old grudge against Shevat... ^.^ Well, that's just opinion, of course. I haven't found any conclusive information yet.

Ether:
We had a topic about this awhile ago, although I think it was mixed up with something else ("Awakenings and Unlimited Power" I think, but I'm not sure of that at all). So, I'll present my theory in a nutshell, and you can decide if you agree or not.

Basically... since the WE is the ultimate source of ether, and also the source of human souls... that means that human souls and ether are one and the same. And that opens a possibility: that humans can learn to draw on ether another way. Or in other words... ether never left the world, it's just that the method of drawing on it, that they've used as they evolved, is now different, and they just have to figure it out from scratch again. Now that Zohar is gone, they have to learn how to draw the power either from their own souls, or directly from the WE. Since that entity supposedly overflows into the conceivable universe, either one is possible.

Other stuff:
Yui fell into the same story loop that Gaspar and Balthasar fell into. It's kind of like the Bermuda Triangle. ^_^ And as was said, there is no proof one way or another that Amphysvena is Krelian's omnigear, although I've also been leaning in that direction lately.

Hmmm.... *looks over the post* I really have to update my information on GA. Some of it dates back to December of '98. Gahh. *shudder* Yes, definitely needs to be revamped... Another project. ^^ But at least it'll be fun.

Ja mata.

Well, looks like most of the questions have been answered, so I'm just going to comment on the Krelian Omnigear thing.

The Gear seen in the flashback is not Krelian's omnigear. This is made obvious by the fact that it has controls, and Omnigears don't have any controls in them. As for Amph being his omnigear, we've got equal arguments on both sides.

For:
1. He appears at Mahanon and Golgoda, and Amph appears there as well
2. It's quite possible that he could have given Ramsus his omnigear at Merkava.

Against:
1. Amph looks a lot like Vendetta (Not so much in the game, but definately in PW) It's possible that Amph is just a rebuilt Vendetta or Vendetta with another Anima Relic
2. If you figure that we don't see Krelian's Gear in the game, then we have all 12 of the relics accounted for (Andvari, Fenrir, El Renmazou, El Stier, El Crescens, El Siebzehn, Vendetta, Opiomorph, Amphysvena, Regurus, Alpha Weltall and Krel's Gear.)
3. In PW there is nothing saying that Amph belongs to Krelian.

So, since both sides have good arguments, I'm just going to keep with what I've said for a long time, it's a mystery, and we may never know until we get a XG 2 or a complete PW translation.

I'll be answering your questions this time, if you don't mind mr. cautious. The truth is... I'm no Myaru. The stuff I claim to know about Xenogears? I actually get it by rigorously reading over Guardian Angels... that's right, almost all the information you could ever hope for on the topic of Xenogears is at Guardian Angels. From amazing character insights to some of the most endearing works of fan fiction available today, Guardian Angels provides deep analysis and brilliant conjecture, a combination that has not been surpassed in my humble browsings. Sure, Myaru doesn't know *everything* about Xenogears, but she knows a lot more about it than me. It hurts to admit that, but it's true. So visit Guardian Angels!

http://guardian.leamonde.net

Next week, I'll be coming out of the closet, so stay tuned for that lengthy post.

As for your question, mr. cautious...

My answers/Theoris:

Sophia got her Omnigear before she died. You get to se it in the flashback.

It never said that it faught well against any Diabolos, I'd say it didn't participate. They still had Andvari, Amphysvena, Opiomorph, possibly Krelian's Omnigear and another "unknown" Omnigear.

I didn't know the magazines in Zeboim were difficult to understand.

Isn't Area Terrane the north were the second Anima dungeon and Zohar is located?

Krelian said: "The only one who could have forgiven me was god". This because Krelian finally realize that people must learn to survive without relying on an imaginary persona god and instead rely on fellow humans. However, because of all the horrible things he had done to other humans he couldn't live with them (face himself in the mirror) and so decided to return to the waves, what he calls "god", because "god" was the only one who could have forgiven him. Get it?

Where Yui is is a mystery. Someone said Midori is implying that she is dead when you talk with her, but I didn't see it that way.

I don't think Amphesvena is Krelian's omnigear.

"Why were people that were not destined to be part of god also taken by the seraphs?"

Great question. I'm surprised no-one has asked about that yet on a messageboard what I've seen. It's Krelian who made changes in the Deus system. This is what 'Project Noah' is all about and where things are similair to the 'Instrumentality Project' in Eva. Krelian's Ark Plan was all about "saving humanity" by bringing them all into the Merkava. The dead, as well as the living humans so that when the WE was released, all humans would return to the waves (or 'god') with the WE. If things are still unclear about why Krelian wanted everything to return to the waves you should read his dialogue before fighting Uroborus again.

Hmm... I beleive no-one can tell for sure who Krelian refers to at end.. It can be either Ramsus, Sophia, and "God" (and not "gone").. My personal inclination is to that he means Sophia.. Sure, Elly IS basicly Sophia, but Krel prolly refers to the physical person he used to know and love back 500 years ago...

As for Shevat, I found the city to be somehow a deja-vu... In Chrono Trigger at dark age, you stumbble upon a similar city.. which will, just like in Xenogears, fall down eventually..=)

Your observation intrigues me... But I don't seem to be able to associate it well in timeline, so I can't really answer you whether you got a point there or not... =)

Anyway.... :)

Best Regards
Kostjan

From my knowledge of the game Sophia piloted her Omnigear once and got injured in the process (remember the scene with her recovering later on) I suspect that a repressed memory Elly possesses explains why she took no interest in piloting the saem gear later on. I dont think that Omnigears can become aligned to other people with the exception of Ramsus (who was designed to have that power) So I doubt Zephyr piloted the gear later on.

I agree with kostjan, Krelian was most likely talking about Sophia. You also have to remember that even though essentially Elly is the same person, that was 500 years ago and a whole other life time ago. Did Elly even remember those events before she gained Miang's memories? From what I recall she had a few lingering remnants of those times in her subconscious before she merged with Miang. Afterwards though she would have full knowledge of the events (I think... Myaru correct me if I'm wrong please). The other logical choice would be Lacan since Krelian treated the guy like dirt after Elly used her omnigear holding him responsible.

Regarding Ether energy, my guess would be that its no longer there since the Gears werent able to operate in the ending with Xenogears being the exception. Perhaps there are a few traces left in the atmosphere but I kinda doubt it. In other words any fanfic you do set after the game would need the Gears running on an alternative power source if you wanted them up and running.

Yui's whereabouts is a total mystery some say she died but theres no proof one way or the other. Perhaps you could write a fanfic in which she sets off on some secret mission for the Shevat council just a thought.

hope that helps.

Yes totally useless ha ha chase after it
boy a love thats unattainable no matter
how hard you pursue it.
