"Inconsitencies: The Legend Continues" , Sun 19 Nov 22:29

1. Towards the end of the opening sequence, when the captain activates the self destruct, that big piece of the ship that blows up first, isn't that the bridge where the captain was? If so, then how did the gears get into the bridge (which was intact) in Mahanon? In a scene when they are on the bridge, the camera shows the whole place including the lockett which the captain had left on the controls. How can this be if that part of the ship was the first to blows up?

2. I know this has been discussed somewhat before, but what happened to Vind? I mean when Fei and the pirates are in the desertm General Maitreya takes Falkon and Vind ( not Farrant) on the deathmission where 2 were klilled and the third (Maitreya) survived. I say 2 because he said he misses 2 of them (Falkon and Farrant). But why doesn't he miss Vind since Vind is the one who went with him? Or did Falkon, Farrant, and Vind all die but Vind was such an unlikeable bastard that Maitreya did't miss him?

Why so concerned with a little character like Vind? :P

If you'll remember, out of the 4 guys with Fei, Falkon gets blasted right away before Vanderkaum talks, then the other 3 guys, Maitreya, Farrant and Vind head to Dora and are all wiped out. They show it pretty clearly, I see no reason to get confused over it.

As for the whole Deus thing, as usual I'm the last to get here and everyone else has already answered the question.

"Have you ever been in love?" Kissoon replied.
"Yes I think so."
"Then you've been to Quiddity twice. Once the first night you slept out of the womb. The second occassion the night you lay beside the woman you loved. Or man was it?" He laughed. "Whichever."
"Quiddity is the sea."
"Quiddity is the sea. And in it are islands called the Ephemeris."
"I want to go there." Jaff breathed.
"You will. One more time you will."
"When?"
"The last night of your life. That's all we ever get."

First, as you said, the Captain of the Eldrige used the self-destruct mechanism. Correct?

Well, I've noticed that most capital ships have... "crumble zones" for lack of a better term, like the newer-model cars we see on the market these days (in a crash, there are certain parts that take more damage than others). So when you activate a self-destruct chain, perhaps it's only meant to damage certain parts of the ship so the rest can be salvaged later on, and also to protect anything important that might be trapped inside.

It looked to me like there were specific lines of explosions when the ship blew, and considering that many parts of it survived nearly intact (the bridge, the city, the generators, the fins - it fell to the planet in pieces), this might not be far off.

So perhaps it's not an inconsistency, but just a small detail that no one noticed. ^_^ Perhaps.

Then again maybe Deus was able to restore the bridge of the Eldridge before it shut itself down. Although that is kinda unlikely. The eldridge could also have had a second bridge again unlikely. It could be a mistake on the part of the production team which made the game (very likely).

As for the fate of Vind, he did die and nobody gives a rats ass because the guy was a complete headcase take it from me. Actually to be honest I hardly remember them mentioning the guy and I'm willing to be the production team forgot about him. (How could they forget about such a bastard?)

Yes totally useless ha ha chase after it
boy a love thats unattainable no matter
how hard you pursue it.

I highly doubt Deus, who with his last powers and effort created Miang before going into "sleep" mode actually restored the bridge... However, it is very possible that Miang herself, with the Contact, or Cain and Gazel Ministry restored the place as their first habitation place... They had to live somewhere, no? And maybe restoring the ship was easier than to build from scratch... Anyway..

But most likely it's just one of the mistakes of the production team.... But I don't blame them, since before you guys brought this subject up, I didn't even notice that :))

This is kind of ridiculous to debate about. ^^

Deus is organic -- he can't regenerate a purely inanimate object. Even the last dungeon was created with the leftovers of Merkava - which was in turn created with the leftovers of the Eldrige bridge. All he can do is grow around what's there.

In fact, he wasn't even capable of that before Krelian sent out that virus to make humanity usable for Deus's needs - so I doubt he would have been able to rebuild even that part of the ship after the crash - no usable organic material. He was in hibernation, anyway. ^^

Well, this isn't true:in the last part of the game he absorb what he want, thanks to the nanomachines;I can remember of Fei and his party to speak about this, and to say,at the question:"Why is he doing this if he can with nanomachines absorb all the things, even inorganic things"-they though about the desire of the mother to be with is own children.

Cain no ones getting confused. It was s imple question. Why didn't Maitreya say he missed Vind along with the otehr 2? Not hard and the game does not show or answer this clearly. Everyone else um ok. Also the piece of the ship we see blow up in the beginning is the bridge most likely because it is the part we see resurface on disc 2. When you do in that is the bridge. But not just the bridge. It contained raziels tree also. Oh well.
