"Deus and Lavos" , Sat 2 Dec 13:40

I've been thinking about it for a while and in Chrono Trigger/Cross, I can't remember which game. (probably both) It says that Lavos houses the DNA of all humans. Deus also does. Can anyone explain these odd similarities?

Yes!!
Finally!
Yes I have the belief that they are the same thing.
But the people that worked on Chrono Trigger also worked on Xenogears.

hmm... It's not same thing... Though the similarities are striking.. Notice that when Lavos crushed on the planet, life already existed on it (they make it evident in CC, i dont recall about CT), whereas Deus began terraforming the inhabitable empty planet. Hence lavos himself didn't had the terraforming proprieties... Nor did he build the first humans (which, in CT/CC, evolved according to Darwinien views, from apes)... Lavos is just a destruction weapon, whereas Deus is also a creator (even though his creation was to serve him as "refuel" later in history)...

Anyway....

It was more than clear that Lavos crashed on Earth in CT... it crashed down on Tyrano lair while your party was running from it ^_^

"It was a long time ago we heard God fell down from heaven. A girl was born.
She was a light she was a shadow. She was a mother she was a girl.
She was an ambivalent angel coming down to earth.
She swung between love and hatred facing peace and battle.
She saw the world being filled with sorrows of child. She followed her destiny.
She guided children to the land of promise the land of rejoice."

Also, Lavos' goal was to achieve the ultimate in evolution... The superior being (just like Baal in Grandia), whereas Deus wasn't to evolve, just to revive himself.... :(

Lavos was actually like an...what do you call it...a virus? Anyways, Lavos intention was to use the planet to use its energy and grow, have a progeny (like, to have children) so that they move along to another planet and do the same.

In my opinion, he did just as someone said about Deus, Lavos had the instinct of an animal, he wanted to survive. Thus, in order to do that, he had to move along planet by planet to keep that species alive ( Just like us humans, we kill animals to eat and survive) .

It's just that the humans in the CT world gave personality to the beast, by giving him a name.

Just my opinion, though.

So... what exactly would have Dues' goal had been once the revival was complete, or was there one?

Pardon my ignorance... hehe

Hmm... I don't beleive it is known what Deus "wanted" (not that he, or rather, it could think rationally tho) to do AFTER his revival... It is known what Krel wanted to use Deus for, but that's somewhat different... To me, Deus is an organic beings with the primary animal instinct: to survive... Deus isn't intelligent, isn't planning world dominations on his own, for he could care less... He does what he did only to survive, to live. Brief, it's not a rational being, it was programmed to live and serve as a weapon, and it fully fulfills that plan ;(

well exactly. But who's to say that Lavos was all that sentient either? maybe it's evolution and conquest was just to ensure it's own survival.

Perhaps in order to survive, Deus may determine that to destroy everything else, or to evolve or whatever is the correct next course of action.

Oh well... I dunno. I'm just a half-assed speculator anyway ^_^

If you rememeber what Old'man Balz showed you in XG, he shows you that animal skelatons were around before human skelatons.
