woops, ignore that first post =)
Anyway, i just finished the game for the first time, and i have a couple of questions.
1) wahts the urobolus ring that people keep talking about on this board. Something that graf uses or what?
2) who is kim and who is abel? for some reason, i don't remember anything about them.
3) The gazel ministry, were they actually trying to resurrect god (the WE) or, just deus? someone explain the gazel's intentions a bit more please?
4) explain the anti-type?
5) the first "deus" you fight, what was that exactly??? was it the real deus or what? did you really kill it?
ugh, i had a ton more, but i can't remember them. forgot them cause the game took so long to finish, maybe i'll go through it again and write em down. thanks

3.) The Gazel Ministry was generated by Deus through System HAWWA (the first Miang you see in the intro movie) to find the anima relics and to resurrect Deus, not the WE.
4.) Originally, Miang was Elehayym, the one you see inside Kadomony; within Zohar's Eye piece. Deus was connected to Zohar and it took over the system, changing the original Elehayym (which was created by the WE) into Miang. Miang is Deus's program for self resurrection. Elehayym, aka the Anti-Type exist to guide the Contact (which is Abel, Kim, Lacan, Fei) so that the Contact (or Anonelbe) will eventually free the WE from its fleshy existence, which is Zohar. That's the sole purpose of the Anti-Type.
5.) The first Deus was the original Deus you see in the intro movie, that red winged fetus organism sealed in the circular reactor. The one you fight in Mahanon was the same Deus, only 10,000 years older. The one you fight at the end was an "evolved" Deus.
You did killed the Deus in Mahanon, but Krelian removed its core before Fei arrived and moved it into the Merkava core. It is at the Merkava where the 'final' Deus was constructed/evolved (with the help of Krelian's nanomachines).

Mmm...I thought it had been agreed that the original Elhaym gave birth to Miang and Elly. Because if she turned into Miang, her body wouldn't have been in that capsule.

Actually, it's the other way around. The Wave Existance created the original Elehayym in Kadomony (the one in Zohar's eye) with Abel's will for a mother. Deus, although dismantled on the Eldridge, was partially connected to Zohar. Midway into flight, Deus restarted and saw the Elly in Zohar. Knowing he will not survive the crash, Deus took over the Elehayym in Zohar's eye and inserted his Resurrection Program into it, which was Miang. In PW, it said the Abel-WE contact heavily influenced the Deus Resurrection Plan. That's what it was. You can say Deus saw an opportunity (which was Elly) and took advantage of it (by inserting the Miang program). I can post more on this if you like, although I've already posted several huge explanation in the XGZ General Xenogears Chat forum ;)
Plus the whole incident is explained in the intro movie.

Under perfect works, Alpha-1 is -Persona-, the central processing unit of Kadomony. Omega-1 was the infant Deus' main body, the winged creature you see in the beginning. I have a full synopsis of the intro movie in the works ;) These are just "excerpts" ;)
OperatorI: Omega one restarted. Alpha One genome restructured. Confirming exon replacement...
Omega-1 restarted simply means Deus has restarted. In PW, it specifically says that "When the intro movie stated 'confirming exxon replacement', the Original Elehayym was turning into Miang Hawwa under Deus' influence"
Operator II: Base code 85 million, 100 million! It's speed is overwhelming! Alpha One to Razael Central, access confirmed. Initializing Feteck. Disconnected!
This segment means that Deus has used -Persona- and Zohar to hack into the Razael super computer.
Operator II: Omega One, they are attacking! We can't stop them! 98% of our weapons have been taken over.

Operator I: Ergo area is increasing. An internal plane is forming. Switch to space displacement mode. Alpha One, confirming transfer of coordinate codes. Cordinates input NX128EZ061, the main planet!

1) The Urobolus ring is the...genetic?...factor in women that allows Miang to take over their bodies if she so wishes.
2) Kim and Abel are two previous incarnations of Fei. Kim lived during the Zeboim era and created Emeralda. Abel was the child who survived the crash of the Eldridge.
3) You know, I'm not sure whether or not the Gazel even knew of the Wave Existence. I can't think of any reason they might know that it basically 'powered' Deus. It seems no one but Miang really knew what Deus was.
4) To put it briefly, I'd say the counterpart of Miang-as-the-mother. Miang gave birth to the human race, and the Antitype, Elhaym, guides them.
5) That was really Deus. Yeah, he was pathetically easy the first time around, but give the guy a break; he'd been out of comission for quite some time^.~

Also, anyone know of where i can find a pretty indepth timeline which explains the xenogears storyline? The whole story form the beginning would be great, but, if its just the in-game story that be great too. thanks.

Kadamony was the biological computer contained within Zohar that created 'the mother' when Deus crashed to earth. I think intangir's already done a lot of explaining on this, so I'll stop here.
Zeboim was an advanced civilization that was around 4000 years before the events in Xenogears. This is the place that Kim, the first reincarnation of the contact, lived. He did a lot of stuff with nanomachines, which krelian later uses. Zeboim was eventually destroyed in a war caused by that time's Miang incarnation, and sank to the bottom of the sea. You can see it in the 'Ethos' Dig Site and the Lighthouse.
Fatima Jasper is the retina pattern in the fatima family members eye's, which is used for passage within Ft. Jasper.
for story info, go to http://xenoquarters.xenogears.org I never got around to completing the complete timeline since intangir ended up beating me too it, although i've got the character timelines up. if you want the story from the beginning, i have a gigantic game summary up there too that goes into quite a lot of depth.

There are many surprises in the Zeboim city underneath the Lighthouse.
1.) The Emeralda thing
2.) If you search the crates within an old warehouse, you find documents about that S-Matrix engine, the Eldridge Heisennberg displacement (HLV) engine, and another one about Big Joe associating with the "MBA All Stars".
3.) Search an abandoned TV Studio and you will find a recording from the Zeboim Civilization. The recording basically tells you how Zeboim destroyed itself, with 5 'hidden' anime drawings accompanying it. Also.. you get to see a shot of Miang next to the prime minister of Zeboim as she appears 5,000 years ago. One of Xenogears 'hidden secrets' :)

Look for the lighthouse on the map. When you find yourself back on the map at the end of the game you can actually enter the place. Make sure Emerelda is in your party and enter the buildings when Fei says something. Travel in your gears so that you dont get the crap knocked out of you and look for a manhole cover in an open space you can go down there and after a while you'll come to another open space and have a flashback to the Zeboim era, after which you'll get a small suprise. I'm not answering the questions since everyone else beat me to it.

Actually, the first time around it took me almost an hour to find the f-*beep* hole for Kim/Elly/Emeralda scene...
In fact, the easiest way it's just to go strait from the entry, and into the "curve".. And it's just about there... Also, if you found your Souper Nacho.. er.. I meant Super Muchacho friend Big Joe and his godly equipment store, then continuing strait on that street will lead you directly to the hole.....
Anyway :(
