The Gears are referred to as "terminal interface weapons" of Deus. I can't seem to make any sense of this phrase; it just seems to be a random assortment of words thrown together without any particular significance.

Or maybe it's just a bad translation.

Or, possibly, I'm a bit slow on the uptake.

It was the Seraphs, not the Gears, which were referred to as Deus' terminal interface weapons.

The Omnigears were also terminal interface weapons :)

"Do you know why the Gazel Ministry desired the Anima Relics and your bodies? Well, here's the reason... Before becoming human, the bodies of the Ministry were once part of the organic elements in the core circuit that made up 'Deus'. There were two types of organic elements. The female type was called 'Anima', while the male type was called 'Animus'. They were also created with the added ability to become mobile weapons for Deus. In other words, those Omnigears you were using were one form of such weapons."

"An Omnigear that has lost its respective Anima Relic, is but a puppet. It becomes a mere vessel or container in which there is no contents."

It all returns to nothing. It all
comes tumbling down
tumbling down
tumbling
down.

Ohhhh. I didn't remember that part I was thinking of this:

quote:

Citan: "Yes. That is why Merkava is being used to begin the destruction. But... Deus is not following its programming of exterminating all of civilization... The -Seraphs-, which are terminal interface weapons of Deus, are using their bodies composed of... ...nanomachines to absorb massive numbers of people regardless of whether they are dead or alive. It is not discrimination between the mutant and non-mutant people. This is highly peculiar... ...The fact that the people who are meant to be destroyed are being taken in as well... That is the absolute opposite of what it is supposed to be doing."

Made perfect sense to me. Basicaly what this means is that they are detachable weapons that obey the commands of the main weapon system deus.

Terminal:
Of, relating to, situated at, or forming a limit, a boundary, an extremity, or an end.
Growing or appearing at the end of a stem, branch, stalk, or similar part.

Interface
The point of interaction or communication between a computer and any other entity, such as a printer or human operator.

and I am sure you know what a weapon is. There you go it is in the definition.
