"Garden of Eden? Hmm..." , Thu 15 Mar 15:39

Comments that have been made here regarding the final scene (and Urobobolus, the final boss, representing the Urobolus Ring) have prompted me to come to the realization that there are some apparent correlations between that scene and the Biblical account of the Garden of Eden.

Thusly, and to wit:

1.) Krelian, shortly before the fight, says something to the effect of "show me how strong this love is." Fei then proceeds to fight Urobolus.

2.) By destroying the Urobolus Ring, Fei condemns himself to death, i.e. an end to his reincarnated existences. Of course, he does the same for Elly, but she was a goner anyway.

3.) In the Bible, the only condition for death that Adam and Eve had was eating of the fruit; logically, if they had not done so, they would have lived forever (much like Fei and company).

4.) One could surmise that the reason Adam foolishly ate of the tree was because of that death penalty. Eve ate and was already on death row (much like Elly--at least the "death row" part). Adam upon seeing Eve would have realized instantly that she was going to die. He threw away his chance at eternal life by eating of that fruit, demonstrating that his love of Eve was stronger than his love of life.

5.) Fei did the same thing.

6.) Krelian offered Fei the chance to do so; Satan offered it to Eve. I think somebody speculated that Krelian may have corresponded to Satan....

7.) Satan had wings too, you know.

I think that's all of it. Anyway, just a revelation that I had the other day.

Uhmm. There is a point that not matches with the things I know:
You said that Fei comdens himself to death, cause he can't reincarnate anymore; I think this is an error cause it have been said that every people can reincarnate, but only the ones with the Orobulus ring could remember this, so he won't die, he won't remember! (I could naturaly have had a mistake).

Intresting......This is of course you don't agree with my argument that Urobolus that is fought in the end is seperate from the genetic material in Fei, Elly's body. But that does not make it any less relevent.

No, Urobolus allows introns to store memories as well as causing transmigration to occur.

(Not sure of this part) But if the WE created the Urobolus factor in Elly/Miang/Fei, that would explain how Urobolus also allows the three to continue living.

*cracks his knuckles* here is my theory as posted in another forum....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a bone to pick with that statement. First there is no evidence that destroying the Urobolus actually caused the Miang Factor to go inactive. For this to be true the killing of Urobolus would have to have the consequence of removing the genetic sequence in every living human being in the entire world. The miang factor or Urobolus is stored in the introns. This is a near impossible feat in of itself, but if furthermore inconsistent with how events occure in the Xenogears world.

Everything in the Xenogears world that changes a physical representation in Xenogears is a physical force. Killing a symbol in Xenogears with the result of a massive change in the physical world does not match up with the ideas presented.

Now the Urobolus was the data that Deus stored in Miang and Elly. Considering that they are main componets the Urobolus probably stores more than memories, but also the complete blue prints for dues's reconstruction. This of course explains why dues would not want the humans that survived to continue living as they may cause the manufacturing of a second dues weapon.....

If such is true then the Urobolus boss could simply be the fusion of Miang and several other humans into a single major componet of dues. This would explain why the darn thing was so ugly and looked like people where jammed and melded together. This makes as much, no infact more sense and is more consistant with what is presented in Xenogears than the idea of killing one (non-existant remember that we are in Dues's conciousness and if the componet is dues's 'mind' it could be there as well. Secondly dues's 'mind' would have to be defeated in order for them to leave 'deus's' conciousness) being with the result of massive worldly change...in seconds....On the order of scale that took Dues years to acheive.

You know, your point of contention (that the genetic factor remains) provides a very interesting plot point from which to create a sequel :)

After all, what's to stop the miang factor from resurrecting Deus?
