taken from rpgamer's QandA:
Brian: To answer the question, yes this IS convenient. But that's because a little-known scene was cut out of the English version of the game that most people never got to see. In this scene, Ramsus is revealed to be able to control the space/time continuum, and can create microwormholes, time portals, and whatnot. It's tough to explain without you actually having seen this, but trust me...it all made sense.
Ok what the hell is this all about?

What is being reffered to is the 'lost' cut scenes that everyone talks about, but don't really exsist. ^^; People for some reason don't think that the japanese version of Xenogears had the little bit of censoring the american version had. Comeon people... as liberal as the japanese are about sexual things, they arn't THAT liberal.
But people are always thinking there are copies of the ending movie without any of the lens flare, or with the characters more... erm, detailed. But the ONLY hidden video on the disk is a music video where Stars of Tears is played... to the best of my knowledge, you can only access this video through the Debug Room, using the Making of Lunar and Xenogears CD trick, or by using a PSX video player.

Haha, I think that guy is blowing air out of his ass. I have both the Japanese version and the Millenium Editions.
Unless I oversaw that 'scene' (right), there were absolutely no 'extra' cut-scenes whatsoever. The 'Ethos' however, was 'The Church' in the Japanese versions.
It all returns to nothing. It all comes tumbling down tumbling down tumbling down.

Ethos isn't a very far stretch from Church.. in fct they're roughly synonyms. It's also not much of a stretch to understand why it got changed from Church, considering the dim view some of the more vocal members of the clergy have of video games.
