"Naphtali/Alpha/True Weltall" , Thu 22 Mar 13:30:

`````Something never explained in the Game. I'd like interpretations here. I don't care if there's no factual evidence or not, I want answers, please.
`````I just read the first Post of some old thread discussing Alpha Weltall. I'll probably go back and read all the Replies later to see what the people have decided on is the connection (if anyone reached a conclusion).
`````Anyway, I noticed AC said something about Naphtali. While I don't bloody care whether Alpha Weltall and True Weltall are the same... Although I say they are... My curiosity concerns Naphtali. AC said Deus didn't absorb Naphtali. My interpretation... Deus did absorb Naphtali. Lacan's Gear became an Omnigear with Naphtali but after achieving the state of Grahf Lacan didn't need the Omnigear for Alpha Weltall to be as powerful as it was (like with 'Id' and Weltall/Xenogears). The Anime Relic *was* removed (the Gear doesn't have to be there for the Omnigear to be absorbed, in my opinion, or Grahf already gave Naphtali away. Remember, there were no other pieces besides Fei necessary to reunite with Deus after the Merkava scene, so I say Naphtali was given up before the Zohar confrontation.
`````What I want to debate here is not the reason for the name difference (although I'll give my interpretation since I brought it up anyway, Alpha Weltall became True Weltall upon losing its Omnigear but didn't decrease in power and/or skill and/or anything in the slightest because Grahf was piloting it) but what happened to Naphtali... You can debate how it relates to the name difference if you want to.
`````I just hope this is up to interpretation and there's no facts that answer this clearly.
My guess is that you're probably right; after the fight at Mahanon, Grahf willingly gave up his anima relic, along with the relic for Regurus, which was already captured at Golgoda, and the few mystery relics, the others where absorbed after the opiomorph fight. That's my theory.
When the Gazel were discussing where the remaining Relics were, they spoke of "Grahf's Naphtali". The wording suggests that they, at least, thought he still had it. And I doubt the Gazel relied much on what they heard only through the grapevine. Something to be kept in mind.
`````Yes, thank you!! :)
`````Someone's finally discussed something with no concrete factual support. Now could you go contribute to my topic about what happened during the 'Transcend Christ' era after Earth was sealed that the Game and the PERFECT WORKS Sourcebook didn't cover?
`````As for what you said...
`````We know Grahf still had Naphtali then. That was before Merkava. The question is whether Grahf lost Naphtali at Merkava or Zohar. Its ridiculous to talk about, but XENOGEARS leaves so little up to interpretation you have to go to extreme lengths to find stuff that isn't explained at times.
From my interpitaion and theories I have read I constue that Grahfs gears was Alpha Weltall when it had the Anima relic and was True Welltall when it didn't. Why?????
Simple first True Welltall is weaker than Alpha Weltall
Second Deus had to asorb all the relics to opperate and Grahf said that Deus was asobing them in the opposite direction of which they split. Thus it must be constured that the Anima relic was absorbed before the mother combined with Deus. As this happened at Merkava the relic must have combined before Zohar......... and needless to say way before it asorbed the contact......
Ooops did I use facts!? :)
I've payed close attention to Grahf's gear throughout the game, and my conclusion is that he only has one gear throughout the whole thing. Alpha/True Weltall has wings, which may make it seem like a different gear from the one he uses to power up Fei's foes. I think that it conceals it's wings when it is not fighting...or saving Elly from falling Hechts. The gear's chestpiece resembles the other omnigears' in the beginning up until the end. Grahf has only one omnigear, as you can see when the ministry does their anima relic "roll call". "...and Grahf's Naphtali..." Naphtali is the anima relic, not another gear.
But how did Alpha/True Weltall stay the same in ability and appearance after Deus sucked up the anima relics? I think Krelian reconstructed his gear with nanomachines after the anima relic was taken. This is what "Taura" and Balthasar did with Fei's friends' gears.
Of course, I don't have PW, and couldn't read it even if I had it, so...this is only based on stuff in the game.
Just watch Xenosaga not suck
