Topic Title: The Redheads...

In the opening cinema, the captain has a picture of an older readheaded woman(his wife, most likely)and a younger redheaded girl(his daughter, most likely; she looks a LOT like Elly)that he looks upon before he dies. What are your guys' opinions/theories on Elly's connection to the Captain? The girl? What about Fei's connections to the picture and the captain?
I'm not sure whether or not this has been posted before, but this subject has come up in a few of the recent posts and seemed like something good to start a topic on.

I honestly don't see the connection.
Sure, Elly looks like her, but so what?
Another Theory: Melding Abel's desire for his mother (you perverts, stop thinking that) and maybe even the Captain's desire to see his family members created Elly's image. Does the Wave Existence have to be CLOSE UP to use its power on indivisuals, or do strong emotions act as a link between the two?

The whole notion that they're related is ridicoulous. Ya know, its possible for there to be 2 people out there with the same hair color! Even so, she looks nothing like Elly anyway. The picture was used for emotional effect, thats all. I think people make way too big of a deal over this whole issue.

You keep forgetting that the WE did not create Elly out of Abel's mental image of his mother. WE just replicated that EMOTION of Abel's DESIRE for his mother. The WE did not see what Abel mothe rlooked like, it only went for the emotion and created a woman for him. Elly is unique.
Plus, so what if the girl in the beginning looks like Elly. Dont you notice that Elly's eyes are blue and the girl in the locket has brown eyes?

Remember Sophia had brown eyes and hair and Elly had ornge hair and blue eyes. I always thought that the captians wife and daughter were on the home planet.

If i recall, Sophia's hair was always orange, and when Fei said that the hair was different, I believe he was reffering to the hair style. Elly's hair in previous and the present time are different then the time of Sophia

I'm pretty sure he said hair color...but I'm going to check and make sure. I'm playing the game over again so I'll post when I get to that part.

Hmmm...you're right. I remember Fei mentioning that the portrait of Sophia looked like Elly...but the hair color was different. Guess that means there MIGHT be a connection...

You just relax there buddy and address people with respect. Who are to know what the exact answer is?
Take the picture out of the scene. Reguardless of that, WE compimented Fei;s emotion of fear and wanting of a Mother. It did not say that WE noticed Fei wanted his mother so he created an image of his mother, All it did was create a responce to that desire, nothing more. And reguardless of that, there si no relation to Fei and the locket. It was used for emotional purposes.

Perhaps Kadamony combined the pictures of The Captain's wife and daughter to form the biological construct of The Mother. I mean, Kadamony must have had access to the ship's central computer (Raziel I believe), and The Captain must have had some personal files on board, such as picturesn of his family.
Perhaps Kadamony combined the images of the wife and daughter to form the body of The Mother. Kadamony used the pictures as a reference. If you look at the locket and then at Elly, you will notice that Elly has features of both the wife and daughter.
One question I have. In the Secret Video on the 2nd disc, Elly is shown in the tank within the "Eye Of Zohar". Is this "The Mother" or is this "The Mother's" offspring, the one who carried the will of the Wave Existence? It is possibel, seeing as "The Mother" was essentially a computer incorporated into flesh...

I think the girl looks a lot like Elly. She looks very similar to Sophia in the painting in particular.
There must be a significant reason why the game's creators showed us that picture...I don't think they did it fer the heck of it.
Think about it from the point of view of the creators of the game.

The Captain didn't need to be aware. Kadamony could have accessed the central computer anytime it wanted to. It just didn't until the emergency situation came up...
Also, if that was The Mother in the tank, then how come the woman that came out of the Eldridge crash had purple hair, not orange hair as shown by the woman in the tank?

One thing I want to know
Why choose the captain's Daughter? (if she is his daughter) there must have been thousands of images of family members on the computer. Why look for one specific person when there are so many other perfectly good images? Unless it picked her by random, which is the only explanation, plus The captain's daughter LOOKS similar, there are differences....
So many games....so little time....
