Uhm,things are getting interesting.
The real story (according to me) is this:
The "Father" of Xenogears (now I don't remember its name) isn't a man of this century;
he was realy born in the year 20000 tc, when human are going to be far more advanced than now;
he is a fan of old stories, and found the one from Xenogears (after some research) to be true;
then with a time machine went (or will go?) to our time and begin making Xenogears to notice us all the story;
when the game was finished he though that if the game was going to have too much success the future would change;
so he returned some time in the past, and made Square made FF, so Xenogears wouldn't have had so much success cause he was behind the shade of the FF series;
don't tell to anyone, or the future will change!

sounds more like the story line behind john carpenter's "the Thing" .. but dont worry... it turns out kurt russel and the voice of goliath will show up to put an end to the alien menace

Hmm... Oh no, "cover and duck"! :p
hehehe...
Seriously, anomaly's are normal to south and noth poles... Why? Well, as you might know, all space debrees (read - particles) that enter earth's athmosphere are propultionned towards the poles by the magnetic field, thus saving us from many nasty rdioactive things... So be thankfull to our magnetic field is circular, and not ressembling some fucked up function one can render in Mathematica or Maple to impress people... Uranus, on the other hand (if I recall correctly), has such "random-like" field... So be thankfull you don't live there, ok? :)

Naaa, that is just my interstellar crusier I am building. When I found out about the scientists I had the military grab them.....
Too bad the story got out. Now I will have to have something weird for my goverment controlled scientists to dig up....

Anyway what's the point of that? Most ppl don't give a fuck. Do you think it could be extra-terrestrial space ship or what? It's probably only a huge rock formation with abnormal magnetic propriety. And anyway if it's really special I think the government who found it will be obligated to tell the world what it is because antartica is for every country in the world.

Actually, it'd be more likely that the nation that found it would cover it up, for national security reasons.

I'm not sure about that, there must be some clause in the treaty (if there's one) that must stipulate that every other country must be aware of what's going on on this continent. Anyway I'm no international specialist, but since it's the only "free" continent there must be some treaty attached to it.

Wouldn't it be nice if the Antarctians(sp?) got it? After all, it is their continent. Of course there's probably only a few dozen of them. I doubt there would be any sharing, whoever gets it first will hog it if it is an important discovery.
