It's out (on PC)!  Buy it! Please! Available on Steam right now.  Should be on retail shelves soon, and on 360 pretty soon here too.

Oh yeah, it's out on Xbox 360 too.  It actually plays really well on the 360, possibly the best RTS controls I've seen so far for a console.

RTS on a console? Pervert!!!

The only thing that turns me away from new PC games is the ever-multiplying copy protection schemes. Now, Supreme Commander 2 apparently features "only" Steam-based verification every time you play it (correct me if I'm wrong), but more and more PC games are following Spore's, Assansin's Creed 2's and Bioshock 2's path.... This makes me sad and forces me to chose (usually inferior) console versions of the games that under normal circumstances I'd never play on anything else but a mouse and keyboard... Yes, I'm still on fence about buying PS3 version of Bioshock 2 or not at all... Arg

well, you can consider it "Steam-based verification", but it's more like "Steam-based networking with friends lists and achievements on a platform you probably already have" replacing our old and busted "GPGNet-based networking".

But yes, I'd really give the console version a try.  As a person who is firmly in that "RTSs are best on PC", I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by just how good this one is on a console.
